Travel itinerary

DAY 1

VERONA

Arrival at the airport and pick-up of the rental car. Arrival and check-in at the hotel in Verona.

DAY 2

VERONA - SIRMIONE

Breakfast at the hotel and tour of Verona, known all over the world as the city of star-crossed lovers, having been the setting for the most famous lovers of all time, Romeo and Juliet. Its unique historical centre has been declared a UNESCO heritage site for its architecture and urban layout. After free time for lunch you travel to Sirmione, called “the pearl of the islands and the peninsula”, by the Roman poet Catullus. The city boasts a rich historical and artistic heritage, including the ruins of an ancient Roman villa dating back to the early imperial age known as Catullus’ Caves, as well as Scaligera Castle and Saint Peter’s church in Mavino. Return to Verona for an overnight stay.

DAY 3

VERONA - PADUA - FERRARA - FLORENCE

Breakfast at the hotel then departure for Padua and a wander around the city of Saint Antonio. Any visit to Padua must include Giotto’s frescoes, the history museums, the old city centre with its wonderful architecture, municipal buildings, churches and monuments which radiate history and culture. Free time for lunch then departure to Ferrara, an elegant renaissance town known as the city of bicycles and one of the most beautiful centres of art in the whole of Emilia Romagna. After the visit, departure for Florence.

DAY 4

FLORENCE - PISA - LUCCA

Breakfast and then departure for Pisa. The city has a unique atmosphere: its Piazza dei Miracoli has been named a UNESCO heritage site and includes the famous Leaning Tower, the Cathedral, St John’s Baptistery and the Camposanto. Transfer to Lucca, an ancient city dating back to the 6th or 7th century B.C., thought to be founded by the Etruscans. Today’s historical centre is surrounded by 4km of city walls, and its impressive architecture unites the medieval and the renaissance styles. Return to Florence in the late afternoon.

DAY 5

CINQUE TERRE

Early morning start for a full day trip to the Cinque Terre: the five towns of Riomaggiore, Corniglia, Manarola, Vernazza and Monterosso perched breathtakingly on the sheer cliffs are UNESCO world heritage sites. A magical tour along the rugged coast of the Cinque Terre which includes transfers, tours and free time in the beautiful towns, as well as lunch and a panoramic boat ride along the coast (weather permitting). Return to Florence in the evening.
*Excursion may be as part of a group. From 1st November to 31st March the boat trip is not available, therefore the tour will take place by train. This tour is not suitable for those with limited mobility. You are advised to wear comfortable shoes. Young children are not permitted.

DAY 6

FLORENCE - GENOA

Breakfast at the hotel then departure for Genoa. Check-in at hotel followed by a tour of Genoa, known as the most English city in Italy. A walk through fascinating narrow alleyways leading to majestic open squares such as Piazza de Ferrari, with its characteristic bronze fountain, and the Carlo Felice Opera House. The city has conserved much of its seventeenth century splendour, when Genoese noble families were at the height of their wealth and power.

DAY 7

GENOA – GULF OF TIGULLIO - MILAN

Breakfast at the hotel and departure for Rapallo and onwards by ferry to Portofino, with its elegant style and brightly coloured buildings overlooking the sea. Afterwards a visit to the Benedictine monastery of Saint Fruttuoso, dating back to the 11th century. Return to Rapallo and departure for Milan. Check in at hotel.
*Free time for lunch and dinner.

DAY 8

MILAN - BERGAMO

Breakfast at the hotel and tour of Milan, world capital of fashion and design, as well as financial hub famous for its exclusive restaurants and shops. Its gothic Cathedral and the convent of Santa Maria delle Grazie where Leonardo da Vinci’s fresco ‘The Last Supper’ is to be found, are a testament to the city’s artistic and cultural heritage. Also not to be missed is La Scala opera house, cultural symbol of Milan and ranked among the world’s finest theatres for its history, architecture and performances. Departure for Bergamo and cable car ride up to Bergamo Alta, perched on a hill and surrounded by walls. The beating heart of Bergamo Alta is the Piazza Vecchia, considered to be “one of the most beautiful squares in Europe” by the architect Le Corbusier. It is now a symbolic part of the city. Return to Milan in the late afternoon.

DAY 9

MILAN

Breakfast at the hotel, drop off of the rental car at the airport. Check in for the return flight.

- Accommodation in 4* hotel
- FD excursion to Cinque Terre with lunch
- Car rental Group B or C for 9 days, airport charges; vehicle traffic charges; one way free; unlimited mileage; elimination of liability for damage caused by the customer to the rented vehicle (excluding glass parts, internal parts of the vehicle, wheels, sills, lower part of the vehicle); VAT and taxes.
Note: At the time of booking is required copy of driver's license and credit card to guarantee the designated driver. Excess hours: there is a tolerance of 30 minutes beyond which will be charged an additional day of car rental

   The fee doesn't include:

- City tax where applicable to be paid directly to the hotel
- Anything not specifically mentioned in "Price includes".

   General notes:

   Methods of payment:

When you confirm your booking, you will be asked for the indicated payment of 100 € (not refundable) and for it you will receive the first invoice.
Within 48 hours from the "Block Pricing", you will receive an email confirming your booking by the tour operator and requesting a deposit of 30% of the total booking amount.
The balance of the booking will be requested 30 days before departure.
If the confirmation is less than 30 days before the arrival, the balance of the services will be requested immediately.
